Projects

Veterans Recognition Project
The Tippecanoe Historical Society, in conjunction with the Tippecanoe High School Library/Media Center and Archive Club is gathering information about Tipp City veterans. Tippecanoe High School is focusing on veterans that are alumni of the school while we focus on additional veteran residents - dating back to the formation of Tipp City. We are excited that at the end of this long-term effort, we will have a complete database of historic value that will include all local men and women who have served our country. We are currently looking for volunteers to help research this project. Volunteers will review books and papers to gather as much information as possible, including name, year of graduation, branch of service, rank, years of service, deployment information, service awards, etc. If you are interested in taking part in this important project, please email info@tippecanoehistoricalsociety.org.

Veterans are invited to submit their information directly to The Tippecanoe Historical Society using the online form here or the printable form found here, which should be mailed to: The Tippecanoe Historical Society, PO Box 42, Tipp City, Ohio 45371.

Century Homes Project
The Tippecanoe Historical Society is working with the Tipp City Foundation to recognize homes and buildings within Tipp City that can be authenticated as being at least 100 years old. Residents who have a home or building that they would like to submit for consideration should email info@tippecanoehistoricalsociety.org for more information.

Oral History Project
In recognition of Ohio's Bicentennial, the Tippecanoe Historical Society gathered oral histories of Tipp City. These stories became the basis of a play entitled "Tippecanoe - Our Story", performed in October 2004, in honor of our 25th anniversary. Excerpts from the play are available for presentation and are both informational and entertaining. Each excerpt is approximately 25-30 minutes in length. A sequel entitled "Tippecanoe - Our Lives" was subsequently written and performed in July 2007. Tapes are available for viewing at the Museum.
